Round Rock Honey Beekeeping Academy in San Francisco
On a rooftop in the middle of San Francisco city, a bunch of bees happily colonize and produce amazingly delicious honey.
I celebrated National Honey Bee Day with a beekeeping class! (I don’t actually plan to keep bees, but thought it would be a fun experience.) The bees were fun to photograph and even more fun to examine within the safety of a professional beekeeping suit. Thanks to Round Rock Honey for the great class!
p.s. Did you know bees have 5 eyes?!?
Using Lightroom to catalog & sort last weekend’s photoshoot.
The process of weeding out unusable photos, adjusting exposure in the remaining ones, adding tags/metadata, and flagging shots for touch-up processing takes hours. This is all necessary to do before even editing the actual photos. Organization is very important!

Upgraded to Adobe Lightroom 4!
Example of the “defringe” function visible along the white areas, in Lightroom3 (left) & Lightroom4 (right). Hell yes, goodbye magenta. I’m sure there are tons of other upgraded features I will love, but off the bat this is already a vast improvement.
Fanime 2012 is over—what a great con!
Hope everyone had a fun time and made it back home/ to real life without setbacks. Thank you to everyone who made it to our Cosplay Photographers “Ambient Light” panel, it was a great turnout. The hour went smoothly and we had some great audience questions afterwards.
